On Sunday, 10 June 2009, Elder and Sister Simmons (Novosibirsk Office Missionaries) conducted a Family Night Seminar at the Ulan-Ude Branch building. The purpose of the seminar was to present and demonstrate a Family Enrichment Program (Like Family Home Evening without Church teachings) that may be used by anyone in the world to strengthen their family relationships. The seminar was well attended and several non-members came.
The above photo shows Elder Simmons presenting the program. Standing to his right is the Auyna, who is translating English to Russian.
The Family Night demonstration was put on by President Baldikov (standing)and his family (seated facing the camera) that included the making of a Family Crest. Family Enrichment Program Manuals were handed out to those attending the seminar. The manual is published by the Brigham Young University School of Social Work. The 10 lessons in the Manual are outstanding, and suited for most any culture.
The above photo shows people at the seminar working on their Family Crests. On the Family Crests, we were to put on something that represented our family and what was most important to us.
The Moleff Family Crest hangs in the living room of our apartment, and displays the Moleff Family Motto, "Choose you this day whom ye will serve, but as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord" Joshua 24:15.
