Oct 2008: Interviewed by Bishop Pike (Prosser Ward) and President Stapleton (Kennewick Stake) for worthiness to be missionaries. I guess we passed because we filled-out and submitted our mission papers.
Nov 2008: Shots, shots, and more shots. Then on 14 Nov 2008, Br. Moleff's 70th birthday we received the letter from Salt Lake. We got all of our 7-children together on phones or Internet and opened and read the letter together. How thrilled we all were when we found out that we were called for 23 months to the Russian Siberian Novosibirsk Mission.
Dec 2008: President Mickelsen (our Mission President) told us that we will be serving in Ulan-Ude. Still more shots; we know how a pin cushion feels.
Jan 2009: Our farewell talk was in Sacrament meeting on 25 Jan. Some folks were kind and said they like it. Received our "Certificate of Honorable Release" from the Columbia River Temple Presidency, GL Tingey, DE Assay, and JA Dart, for serving as Ordinance Workers from March 2005 through January 2009 in the Columbia River Temple.
Feb 2009: On Sunday 01 Feb 2009, President Stapleton set us apart as Missionaries for 23 Months to the Novosibirsk Russia Mission and gave us both marvelous blessings. It was a very spiritual occasion. That evening we had our missionary farewell open house and many people came to wish us well on our mission. On Thursday 5 Feb we drive to Utah to visit children, speak at at our granddaughters baptism, buy missionary clothes, visit daughters in Idaho, come back to Utah, and go to the Provo MTC on 23 Feb 2009.
